ICMEC Australia’s mission is to support and strengthen professionals who detect, report, prosecute and prevent CSEA with a particular focus on emerging technology. As an independent not-for-profit organisation, we collaborate with various stakeholders, such as financial services and corporate entities, law enforcement, policymakers, academics, and NGOs, to develop strategies to protect children from harm.

The Australian Childhood Foundation works to ensure children’s rights, safety and wellbeing are upheld in digital spaces. Our focus includes trauma-aware, child-centred approaches to AI governance, online safety and harm prevention.

The Australian Institute of Criminology (AIC) seeks to promote justice and reduce crime by undertaking and communicating evidence-based research to inform policy and practice. The AIC operates the Online Sexual Exploitation of Children Research Program, the goal of which is to understand child sexual exploitation and abuse including the needs of victim-survivors, to inform the prevention and disruption of harm against children.

The Adelaide Cybercrime Laboratory is an interdisciplinary team researching the role of AI in tech facilitated harms against children, and how AI can be used to protect children in online spaces. The Laboratory is involved in a wide range of projects designed to understand the experiences and behaviours of both perpetrators and victims, and developing tools to detect and prevent technologically facilitated offences.

The AiLECS Lab is a research centre jointly run by Monash University and the Australian Federal Police. It undertakes R&D in ethical AI for community safety applications, including significant work focussing on countering online child abuse and exploitation.

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation is a leading national not-for-profit charity dedicated to keeping children and young people free from violence and trauma. We support young Australians to recover and heal from trauma; we empower them to become positive digital citizens and change the culture of bullying; and we advocate for their rights in digital environments.

A21 works around the world to break the cycle of human trafficking and exploitation by reaching the vulnerable, recovering victims, and restoring survivors. In the space of AI, A21 is working on prevention education and public awareness, part of AI subcommittees and initiatives globally, and working with victims of online child sexual exploitation, which is increasingly overlapping with generative AI.

Bravehearts has been providing a holistic approach to prevention and intervention for child sexual abuse and exploitation since 1997. Our work and focus on online safety and the impacts of AI and emerging technologies on child safety and wellbeing continues to grow.

The Carly Ryan Foundation is a non-profit charity dedicated to creating a safer online world for children and young people. Founded in memory of Carly Ryan, the Foundation provides education, advocacy, and support to protect children from online exploitation and harm.

The Cyber Safety Project empowers schools and families to navigate the online world safely with expert-led education and resources. Our evidence-based programs provide practical, proactive strategies to build confident, informed communities ready for the future of technology.

Established in 2005, The Daniel Morcombe Foundation has been committed to building a future where children are safe from harm and abuse and have the opportunity to thrive. As part of our education focus, we provide freely accessible child safety educational resources for children, young people, educators and parents and carers, designed to equip young people with skills and awareness, including in the quickly evolving AI space.

The Grace Tame Foundation is committed to a future free from child sexual exploitation and abuse. We do this by advocating for legal reform, education, and systemic cultural change.

International Justice Mission (IJM) is a global organisation that protects people in poverty from violence. We partner with local authorities in 33 program offices in 19 countries to combat slavery, violence against women and children, including the online sexual exploitation of children, and police abuse of power against people living in poverty.

Through research, advocacy, and amplifying the voices of young people, UNICEF Australia is working to make Australia the safest place in the world for children to online. The impacts of AI on children are a key focus of this work.

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) team have been involved in CSAM research for the last 15 years, undertaking pioneering work in verifying the effectiveness of warning messages. The UTAS has partnered with Stop It Now! (operated by Jesuit Social Services) to operate the CSAM Deterrence Centre, an initiative aimed at collaborating with technology providers to implement safety features to disrupt and deter offending behaviours.

CQUniversity is one of the world's most accessible and engaged universities, ranking in the top 50 institutions worldwide on Sustainable Development Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. We contribute leading expertise on justice responses to sexual violence and regulatory reform, with research that shapes evidence-based policy and practice to build safer, more inclusive communities for children and young people.
